Annual District Events

The Aromas Water District (AWD) participates in several events each year to engage the local community, including the following:

Home Energy Expo (mid March)
Promoting the connection between water conservation and energy savings

Aromas Garden Tour (Saturday before Mother's Day)
Showcase for drought tolerant planting (click here for more information)

Aromas Day (last Sunday in August)
Both water conservation and public relations within the community

Annual Aromas Tri-County Fire Prevention District Open House (mid October)
Focus on collabortion between emergency responders with an opportunity for the involvement of school age children in the community.

July 9, 2019; General Manager Robert Johnson received a Resolution celebrating Aromas Water's 60th Anniversary from Supervisor Phillips of the Monterey County Board of Supervisors.

Oakridge / Via Del Sol Water Supply Project (2014-15)

In 2014-15 a major project was completed to install a water service line (main), a lift station and a 100,000 gallon tank to serve Oakridge and Via Del Sol roads.

Aromas Water District improves system to celebrate 50 years of service

Bonny Mahler knows a thing or two about water delivery in Aromas. Mahler, who serves on the board of directors of the Aromas Water District, was on hand Thursday as the agency celebrated its 50th birthday and the successful first year of operation of its latest improvement, a treatment plant that removes iron and manganese from the water.
