Aromas Water's NewsSplash! Fourth Quarter 2019
Did you know that the “rain year” begins on October 1 each year? This year was off to a slow start as we didn’t see any rain until near the end of November, but within a week we’d had nearly 5.5” and by the end of 2019 the last measurement was 8.8”. Let’s hope the spring brings in more showers!
The District is pleased to be steadily upgrading its system monitoring technology replacing old technology that is no longer supported by the manufacturer. The new technology facilitates various parts of the system being monitored and controlled remotely, thus reducing the need for, and expense of, our Operations Team being on-site to correct issues unless absolutely necessary.
This last quarter of the year saw our staff responding quickly and proficiently to line breaks that occurred in the aging infrastructure of our water system. If you weren’t affected by a line break, you may have seen the Operations Team around town, diligently working on repairs. In conjunction, the Office Staff implemented an automated system to simultaneously contact affected any customers in multiple ways; via email, text and voice messaging. This enabled one member of staff to contact many customers concurrently, and recurrently, as the repair progressed so that everyone was quickly apprised of the situation which is more efficient than several staff making multiple phone calls.
Do please make sure your contact details are up to date with us so that, should we need to, we can contact you in just such a situation!
