Aromas Water's NewsSplash! Second Quarter 2018
We hope you got a chance to attend the annual Garden Tour arranged and sponsored by the Aromas Hills Artisans. Our drought tolerant showcase garden, right behind our office, is often a highlight of the tour. This year we had around 70 visitors come by during the day, and a number of those folks were able to take some free cuttings!
We are delighted to announce that we are, again, the recipients of the Transparency Certificate of Excellence awarded by the Special District Leadership Foundation. This is an award for which we apply every two years and requires considerable work to meet the criteria demonstrating good governance and best practices. Click here to check out what is required to achieve this highly acclaimed award!
AWD's annual Consumer Confidence Report for 2017 was sent out to all our customers in early June 2018; if you have not received yours, you can find it right here on our website. In it you will find details of many regularly scheduled tests for a variety of constituents as mandated by State regulations. As you will see we are lucky enough to have wonderful water quality which meets, and often exceeds, all health and safety standards.
In some sections of our water system, our hard-working Operators are installing a new type of meter with no moving parts which will mean more accurate readings. They continue to keep everything running smoothly, despite having to handle a major refurbishment of one of our wells.
Aromas has enjoyed almost 13" of rainfall since October 1st, 2017 and as summer is well and truly underway, we look forward to future rainfall later in the year!
The chipper program was a huge success this year with an enormous pile of free mulch available at the Fire Station to all Aromasonians to keep our gardens retaining precious moisture.
